UET campus to be operational next year

FAISALABAD, Aug 22 The Faisalabad campus of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore, will start functioning from the next year.

UET Vice-Chancellor Muhammad Akram said this while visiting the under-construction campus on Khurrianwala-Jaranwala Road here on Saturday.

He said the Higher Education Commission had allocated Rs475.996 million for the campus out of which Rs325 million had been spent.

The vice-chancellor said the construction of new academic and administration blocks would soon be completed.

He said that three professors were already serving on this campus while as many would also be deputed shortly to make it fully functional.

This campus would play a major role in the socio-economic development of this region by providing quality education in various subjects of engineering and emerging technologies, he added.—APP
