BAJAUR, July 15: Political administration of the Bajaur Agency has recovered 21 stolen motorcycles and arrested five alleged members of a carjacking gang in an operation launched in different parts of the agency.

Sources told this correspondent on Sunday that most of the motorcycles had been stolen from Karachi, Hyderabad, Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

They said the accused had told the interrogators that the gang had stolen around 250 motorcycles, mostly from Karachi and Hyderabad, and brought them to the agency.

The Assistant Political Agent, Khaar, told this correspondent that the accused had admitted to having hijacked 150 motorcycles between April and July.

He said these motorcycles had been shifted to the eastern provinces of Afghanistan, where they fetched good prices.
