Bugti elected JWP chief

QUETTA, July 15: Nawab Akbar Bugti and Khuda-i-Noor Khan were elected president and general secretary, respectively, of the Jamhoori Watan Party at its council session.

Four vice-presidents — Mir Abdul Jabbar, Anwar Khan Durrani, Riaz Mohyuddin and Saleem Baloch — were also elected.

Other central office-bearers are: Agha Shahid (deputy secretary-general), Haji Shamim Afridi (secretary finance), Amanullah Kanrani (secretary information) and Rahim Zafar (Secretary Labour Affairs).

Saleem Akbar Bugti would be the provincial president of the JWP, while Mir Mohammad Yousaf Notezai was elected provincial general secretary.

Other provincial officer-bearers included Manzoor Hussain Khosa, Sardar Niaz Mohammad Barach, Syed Saleem Agha and Mir Hussain Ashraf (vice presidents), Abdul Qadir Qalandrani, Zaman Khan and Zareef Khan Tareen (joint secretaries), Sohail Rajput (secretary information), Sardar Umar Gorgaj (secretary finance) and Khuda Bukhsh Lango (secretary labour affairs).

The council session also elected Sardar Marghub Ahmed president JWP Punjab, while Asif Bhatti would take over as secretary-general of Punjab. The party councillors also elected Sardar Qurban Jakhrani president and Shahjahan general secretary for JWP Sindh.
