Q My personal computer is an Intel Pentium 4, 4.0 GHZ, with a mother board D945GCNL and 1GB Ram corsair. My operating system is Windows XP. The problem is that when I try to download an antivirus i.e. NOD32, AVG, AVAST from CNET or from the respective vendor sites, it gives an error during the process. I have tried formatting the hard drive but the problem still persists. As a student, I have to use the internet regularly and without an antivirus software I feel vulnerable to virus threats. Can you please provide a solution to this issue?

A Are you using a Download Manager application? If not, you can download 'Internet Download Manager' from http//www.internetdownloadmanager.com/. The IDM is a tool to increase download speeds by up to five times, resume and schedule downloads. Built-in features, such as, comprehensive error recovery and resume capability will restart broken or interrupted downloads due to lost connections, network problems, computer shutdowns, or unexpected power outages.

However, if you're having some other error then I would recommend you shift from Microsoft Internet Explorer to either Mozilla Firefox (www.mozilla.org) or Google Chrome (www.google.com/chrome) and then try downloading again.

You can also download an antivirus software using a Torrent Software. Download uTorrent from www.utorrent.com and visit a torrent site such as www.thepiratebay.org. Only download the latest versions of a software like AVIRA or AVG from a Torrent site.

Q How can I download games in PSP? I am using PSP 3004 and firmware 5.03  (official).

A You cannot download and play games using Memory Sticks on the official firmware. You have to hack your PSP with a Custom Firmware. However, to the best of my knowledge, there is currently no Custom Firmware available for the PSP 3000. The latest Custom Firmware 5.50GEN-A is only meant for PSP 1000s and PSP 2000s. Using Firmware 5.50 GEN-A on PSP 3600 might brick the system.

A hacker group has developed a crack for PSP 3000. You can view the tutorial at http//www.youtube.com/watch?v=qefkoeqPFnw and download the CFW 5.03 GEN-A from. http//pspslimhacks.

com/503gen-a-custom-firmware-released/. Do this at your own discretion with the knowledge that you can block the PSP. My advice is to wait and buy the games.
