Baseball included in PSB activities

LAHORE, July 11: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has included baseball in its annual activity programme (Under-16) for 2002-2003 which was finalised Thursday.

A meeting presided over by the PSB director general Brig. Saulat Abbas released the season’s schedule.

In all, 14 games will be held by seven sports board which are affiliated with the PSB.

Punjab Sports Board will organise boxing (Sept 24-26, 2002), wrestling (Jan 21-23, 2003), baseball (Feb 3-5,2003).

 Sindh Sports Board will host hockey both for boys and girls (Dec 26-28, 2002) and swimming (in May, 2003).

Islamabad Sports Board has been assigned the responsibility of staging tennis (Sept 15-17, 2002), basketball (Nov 2-4, 2002) and athletics for boys and girls (in the second week of June, 2003).

NWFP Sports Board will be the host for the badminton (Oct 29-31, 2002) and squash both for boys and girls (April 10-12, 2003).

Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sports Board will stage table tennis for boys and girls (in the second week of May, 2003) and volleyball (in the third week of April, 2003).

Balochistan Sports Board is only allotted weightlifting for which no date was decided.

Northern Area Sports Board will hold football event at Skardu in June, 2003.
