Ahmad slams hat trick

ISLAMABAD, Oct 7: Ahmad Khan scored a fine hat trick as Askari Bank won the Safdar Mehmood Memorial Polo Tournament by beating ASC 7-4 at the Rawalpindi Race Course.

Ahmad struck five times in all, twice in the first chukker, adding two more in the third and once in the final. Bilal Hasham then added another two to seal the fate of ASC.

For the runners-up Lt. Col Shoaib got a brace in the second chukker with Brig Ali adding the third and Naveed Rehman the fourth goal in the third chukker.

In the third place play-off Bahria Town defeated President Bodyguards 6-4.

Taimur Mawaz Khan scored three goals with Arslan Najeeb getting two and Lt. Col. Ahmed Yar Bandial scoring once.

Hassan Jafar Khan had two goals for PBG while Lt. Col Abdul Walid and Maj. Kamran Aslam collected one each.
