KARACHI, July 10: Two ships carrying crude oil and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Thursday, according to KPT sources.

Berthing activity at the wharves showed a slight improvement thanks to steady arrivals. Five ships, Kota Indah, APL Diamond, Jamila, MOL Sincerity and PONL Everst were berthed to unload and load containers after the sailing of two.

Trade Fast and Kota Indah departed on Wednesday, while Jamila, Karine, Hammurabi and Fu Kang Shan are expected to sail out on Thursday.

The berth occupancy at the oil piers remained nil as no oil tanker arrived on Wednesday, while it rose to 46 per cent on the dry wharves.

Cargo handling activity also showed a modest improvement at 41,664 tons comprising 17,608 tons of export cargo including 707 tons of rice and 24,056 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Thursday: Good Hope, with 62,000 tons of crude oil and MSC Carmen, with containers.
