ATC will try Meerwala case

LAHORE, July 9: The provincial monitoring committee set up by the governor of Punjab to review and monitor the performance of the 14 anti-terrorism courts in the province, met here in the civil secretariat under the chairmanship of Punjab Law Minister Rana Ijaz Ahmed Khan here on Tuesday.

The meeting decided to initiate the proceedings of the case of Mukhtiaran Mai in the DG Khan anti-terrorism court.

Furthermore, a panel of lawyers headed by the member Punjab Bar Council Ramzan Khalid Joiya including Azra Saeed and Sabiha Hassan Randhawa, of the government.

Chief of prosecution of the AT courts in Punjab Asghar Ali Gill advocate has been directed to monitor and ensure the daily proceedings in the AT court. —APP
