TOBA TEK SINGH, Nov 2: PML-N acting chief Javed Hashmi has been arrested for supporting the wheeljam call for Nov 9 by the Pak-Afghan Defence Council.

This was stated in a press statement here on Friday by M. Hamza, the former chairman of the public accounts committee of the National Assembly.

He said NAB officials had been conducting a probe into corruption charges against Hashmi for the last two years, but they had failed to find any proof against him.

He said the military regime had become a security risk for the country, and the only solution to the present crisis was in the restoration of a democratic government.

PROTEST: Activists of religious parties took out a protest procession here on Friday to condemn the pro-US policy of Gen Pervez Musharraf.
