HYDERABAD, July 6: The Managing Director of Wasa, Tahir Ahmed, has directed the officials of the taxation department to make successful the arrears-recovery campaign starting from July 10.

He said that it had been decided in principle that the three circle managers would take legal action against the commercial and domestic defaulters whose arrears exceeded Rs5,000.

He has cautioned the consumers that the vigilance teams, without any notice, would disconnect water supply to the defaulters.

He warned that those having illegal connections could be arrested as the deadline, given to them to regularize their connections, was over. He said that water charges would be recovered from them under the Land Revenue Act.

He reminded that the last date for payment of the outstanding dues had been fixed as July 13.
