Nine FIA, Customs officials sacked, BHC told

QUETTA The Balochistan High Court was informed on Tuesday that services of nine officials of the Federal Investigation Agency and Pakistan Customs had been suspended after the court order in the container incident case, in which bodies of 50 Afghans were found.

Those suspended are Deputy Superintendent Ikram Hussain, Inspector Mohammad Zubair, head constables Mohammad Riaz and Mohammad Asghar and constables Hussain, Sharif, Nasibullah, Kazim and FIA's Chaman checkpost in-charge Walayat Hussain.

The bench comprising Chief Justice Amanullah Khan Yasinzai and Justice MKN Kohli adjourned the hearing till May 14.

The court on the previous hearing, on April 28, had ordered that concerned officials deputed to the Pakistan-Afghanistan border be suspended.

The Afghans were found dead in a container truck parked at the Hazarganji bus stand on April 4.
