Shamshad, Aamir elected

LAHORE,  July 3: Aamir Hayat Rokhari and Syed Shamshad  Jafri were  elected unopposed as president and  secretary  of  the Punjab  Badminton  Association for the next term  of  four  years (2002-2006).

The  elections were held in compliance to the orders of  the Supreme Court. The Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) was  advised  to conduct  the elections from tehsil to national level by July  13.

The PSB appointed the Punjab Sports Board director Khawar Shah to conduct the elections.

Out of total 34 districts of Punjab nominations from  26 districts for different posts were received.

The office-bearers are:

President: Aamir Hayat Rokhri (Mianwali).

Senior-vice-president: Aamir Islam (Faisalabad).

Vice-presidents:   Mrs  Safina  Sohail  (women  seat),   Hakim Mahmood-ul-Hassan (Jhang), Tahir Rashid (Rahim Yar Khan),  Ghulam Qadir  (Sahiwal),  Matloob Ahmad (Sargodha), Mirza  Jhangir  Baig (Jhelum).

Secretary: Shamshad Jafri (Multan).

Associate  secretaries:  Arshad  Mahmood  (Rawalpindi),  Rafiq Babar (Gujrat).

Finance secretary: Nadeem-ur-Rehman (Gujranwala).

Members executive body:

Raza  Tabassum (Okara), Asghar Ali Rana  (Sialkot),  Chaudhary Shahzad  Sadaqat (Chakwal), Muhammad Sajid (Hafizabad),  Muhammad Sarwar (Khanewal), Syed Khalid Farooq (Mandi Bahauddin).
