HYDERABAD: Cop involved in drug trade: area residents

HYDERABAD, April 17 A group of residents of Baban Shah Colony staged a demonstration outside the press club here on Friday to protest against sale of narcotics in their area.

Talking to journalists, Gulab Khoso, Sher Mohammad Solangi and other protesters said that some anti-social elements were patronising sale of narcotics in their area and they were being supported by an ASI who was wireless operator at the Hyderabad DPO office.

The protesters said that drug trade in the locality was a threat to their children`s future as some youth had fallen prey to drug addiction due to easy availability of narcotics at the doorsteps of their houses.

They urged the DPO to intervene, put an end to sale of narcotics in Baban Shah Colony and take action against the ASI and anti-social elements.
