Plan to improve breeding

LAHORE, July 1: The Punjab Livestock Department has chalked out a five-year plan for breed improvement through progeny tested bulls, a press release said on Monday.

According to the department, the plan would cost Rs102.15 million. It aims at expanding breeding coverage through regular production of buffaloes and Sahiwal bulls. Six calf-raising centres are being established for the purpose besides strengthening the Sahiwal semen production unit.
