KUWAIT CITY, June 30: Kuwait on Sunday hanged publicly three Bangladeshis, convicted of rape and murder of a Sri Lankan maid, at Naif Palace.

The names of those executed are: Mohammad Zahar Abdul Sattar, Anwar al-Zamaan, and Anwar Khan Mohammad.

Soon after the hanging, the public prosecutor Hamad Saleh Al Othman told the press that the three were hanged at 8am this morning.

He said: “The public hanging would be deterrent to others in the drive to cut crime rate, and ensure society’s stability and security,” he added.
