Marketing committee surplus budget

LAHORE, June 28: The Lahore Marketing Committee has approved a surplus budget of Rs56.8 million for the next financial year with a provision for the establishment of a marketing information system.

The budget showing an estimated income of Rs56.8 million and estimated expenditure of Rs40.2 million was approved at a meeting presided over by LMC chairman Mian Talat Ahmad.

The proposed marketing information system is to be established at the Ravi Link Road fruit and vegetable markets and the Jallo Morr market at a cost of Rs438,000.

The committee proposes to rebuild its Akbari Mandi sub-office at a cost of Rs185,000 and install electric water coolers there at a cost of Rs50,000. It also plans to rebuild the boundary wall around the Ravi Link Road markets for security purposes besides the installation of electric water coolers and construction of public conveniences at a cost of over Rs2 million.

A platform is proposed to be built at the Jallo Morr Market at a cost of Rs1.2 million besides the construction of the LMC sub-office at a cost of Rs120,000 and public conveniences at a cost of Rs120,000. The road in the Singhpura market will be repaired at a cost of Rs150,000 and the Jallo Market brickpaved at a cost of Rs350,000.
