Govt urged to change Afghan policy
The rally was organized to condemn the US attacks on Afghanistan.
Pir Sabir Shah said that his party has lunched a country-wide protest campaign against attacks on Afghanistan and it will collaborate with Defence of Afghanistan Council and take active part in November 9 general strike.
He criticized the government and said that it was working against the wishes of the people of Pakistan. He described the government policy as shameful. He said that entire Muslim world is united for the cause of Muslims but Pakistan government was supporting the enemies of Islam.
Pir Sabir Shah strongly criticized the arrest of PML(N) president Javed Hashmi and demanded his un-conditional release. He said that government can not stop PML(N) for supporting Afghans who are being targeted by the Americans.
Provincial Secretary General of PML(N) Zafar Iqbal Jhagra also spoke on the occasion.
RELIEF GOODS: On the call of Defence of Afghan Council, Abbottabad branch, four trucks carrying edible items, clothing, and medicines were dispatched to Peshawar for delivery to Afghan refugees.
A cheque of Rs.9,00,000 with nine gold rings, four sets of silver and medicines was handed over to Afghan ambassador at Islamabad by the representative of local Ulema Council headed by Maulana Altaf-ur-Rehman.
