HARIPUR, Nov 1: The judicial magistrate, Haripur, Hafiz Naseem Akbar, has asked the transporters to abide by the traffic rules and stop paying ‘monthlys’ (protection money).

He was talking to a meeting of local Adda (bus stand) owners called to find a solution to the growing traffic problems in the city.

Warning the Adda owners of stern action in case of violation of traffic laws, he asked them to provide facilities, including lavatories, mosque, potable water, to the commuters.

He assured them of the solution of their genuine problems, but also warned them that overloading, speeding, and misbehaviour with passengers, would not be tolerated at any cost.

There are over 20 bus Addas, a number of them operating illegally, in the city limits but almost all of them were without any decent facilities.
