SUKKUR, Oct 31: A group of dacoits kidnapped three persons and also looted dozens of vehicular traffic on the Indus Highway, near Kashmore, on Tuesday night.
According to details, a passenger wagon coming from Sui on its way to Kashmore when reached at the Sindh- Balochistan border area the unidentified dacoits intercepted the wagon and offloaded three passengers, including Ali Hasan Bijarani, son of Haji Karim Bux Bijarani, a councillor of Dera Allah Yar, along with his two friends and fled towards Balochistan.
The names of the other two persons were not ascertained so far.
The police have registered a case and investigating.
Meanwhile, a group of armed dacoits blocked the Indus Highway, near Khanpur Brohi Lari and looted cash, ornaments and other valuables from passengers of buses and other vehicular traffic.
Later the drivers of buses and trucks blocked the Indus Highway for several hours in the morning when the police officials reached the spot and gave an assurance to them that the culprits will be arrested and measures will be taken for the safe journey on the Indus highway.
FARES REVISED: The secretary of Regional Transport Authority, Sukkur, has announced revised fare rates for stage carriage (buses/mini-buses) plying on Sukkur to Larkana route.
Accordingly, the fare from Sukkur to Larkana via Shikarpur has been fixed as Rs37.50, Rs3.00 will be chargeable from Sukkur to Abad, Rs7.00 from Sukkur to Jehano, Rs14.50 from Sukkur to Shikarpur, Rs26.50 from Sukkur to Rattodero, Rs37.50 from Sukkur to Larkana and Rs31.30 will be chargeable from Sukkur to Larkana via Madeji-Naudero.
Similarly, Rs28.50 will be chargeable from Sukkur to Jacobabad, Rs10.00 from Sukkur to Lakhi Ghulam Shah, Rs14.50 from Sukkur to Shikarpur, Rs19.50 from Sukkur to Sultankot, Rs28.50 from Sukkur to Jacobabad, respectively.
