LAHORE, June 16: The Punjab government has completed the construction of an export processing zone at Sambrial near Sialkot which is the biggest and first ever in the country.
According to a handout on Sunday, the zone has been constructed at a cost of Rs183 million over 283 acres. It is a joint venture of the Punjab Small Industries Corporation and the Export Processing Zone Authority.
The government intends to establish five more such zones in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan and Rahim Yar Khan. Land for the zones in Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Multan has already been procured. —Staff Reporter
