LAHORE, Oct 31: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (Noorani) on Wednesday rejected the federal cabinet’s decision to ban the use of loudspeakers in mosques except for calling azan.

In a statement, JUP vice-president Lt-Gen KM Azhar (retired) and others described the decision as an attempt to appease the western powers.
