HYDERABAD, June 14: The Government Secondary Teachers Association Sindh, Hyderabad district, at a meeting held here on Thursday has taken strong exception to the denial of all facilities to the secondary teachers of this district.

The meeting, which was presided over by Jan Muhammad Parhiar, claimed that a step-motherly treatment was being meted out to these teachers who had been denied all facilities made available to the secondary teachers of the other districts.

It expressed surprise that the selection grade to the eligible candidates had been given throughout Sindh in July 2000 but the teachers of Hyderabad district had been ignored.

It pointed out that the former EDO (education) Hyderabad had called for the relevant papers of 270 male and 130 female secondary teachers for selection grade as far back as Oct 13, 2001 but the EDO had not yet called the meeting of the DPC even after the lapse of eight months.

The meeting regretted that while advance increment was being given to the degree-holders of Allama Iqbal Open University, the EDO was not prepared to accept the MEd degrees of our own universities.
