SAHIWAL, June 13: A breach in 9-L irrigation distributary near Chak 99/9-L on Thursday badly damaged standing crops on hundreds of acres of land.

The breach occurred around 9am which soon widened to more than 100 feet damaging standing crops of cotton, sugarcane, potatoes, maize and the fodder. Villagers plugged the breach on self-help basis when the irrigation authorities paid no heed to their complaints. — Correspondent
