SUKKUR, June 11: Sardar Muqim Khan Khoso has announced his support to Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro who is preparing to contest the coming national assembly elections from the constituency no 209, which was earlier grabbed by his uncle and former National Assembly speaker Elahi Bux Soomro.
Speaking at a press conference in Jacobabad on Tuesday, Khoso said that the governor was tipped to become next prime minister of Pakistan.
Khoso said that Mohammedmian had resigned from his bank job to serve the people of Sindh, specially Jacobabad, and therefore, they would work to get him and Elahi Bux reconciled on the election issue.
He predicted that Elahi Bux would never join the Pakistan People’s Party
He advised the Jakhrani community to vote for Soomro and in return offered his support to the Jakhranis on PS-13.
Meanwhile, some secretaries of the Sindh government visited Jacobabad and Shikarpur on Tuesday to review development schemes, with an aim to brighten the chances of the success of the governor in the elections.
Secretary to governor, Akhter Zamin; secretary, local bodies, Qamar Zaman; and home secretary, Mukhtar Ahmed, inspected 137 development schemes of Shikarpur.
They also met political leaders of Shikarpur, including Maqbool Shaikh, Ghous Bux Maher, Sardar Koral Khan Bhayo, and gauged chances of the governor’s success either from Shikarpur or from Jacobabad.
Prospects are that if there is no patch up between Elahi Bux and the governor for the Jacobabad seat, the latter might contest national assembly election from Shikarpur.
