KHAIRPUR, June 10: All the main towns of Gambat Taluka including Khuhra, Drib, Mehar, Shah, and Saghiyoon, and some 30 villages were hit by unscheduled loadshedding from early morning till afternoon on Monday.

The residents of Drib Mehar Shah, Gambat, Khuhra, and other main business towns took out demonstrations against Hesco. They complained that the loadshedding was continuing since the last two weeks, which was just to cover up their line losses.

MAN SHOT DEAD: A man, Bhambho Khan Tagar, was shot dead in his sleep by five unknown armed men in the Lal Bux Tagar village on Sunday.

The Ahmedpur police lodged an FIR against the five men.

TEACHERS: Teachers will be given due respect in the society.

This was observed by the district Nazim, Khairpur, Ms Nafeesa Shah, while distributing cheques of motorcycle advances to the learning coordinators/supervisors of the education department at the Naaz Pilot High School on Monday.

She recalled that 50 years ago a teacher was more respected than a Wadera.

She urged the teachers to work for the awareness and betterment of the children and their education.

She said that Rs70,000 cheques had been given to the learning coordinators/supervisors for purchasing motorcycles so that they could perform their duties smoothly.

She disclosed that teachers posted in far-flung areas who were unable to attend their duties due to conveyance problems would be paid transport allowance.

ONE INJURED: A sanitation inspector, Dhani Bux Memon, was injured by three men — Paryal Bhutto, Khameeso Khan Bhutto, and Azizullah Bhutto — on Monday. Mr Memon was admitted to a hospital in Sukkur.
