PML-QA drive going on

LAHORE, June 9: The PML-QA is continuing its mass contact drive in the provincial metropolis with party office-bearers, former parliamentarians and councillors taking part in it.

On Sunday, former MNA Mian Abdul Wahid, Mian Riaz Husain, Chaudhry Muhammad Husain and Chaudhry Muhammad Aashiq visited Mughalpura, Canal Park and Kalendarpura and listened to the people’s problems at corner meetings.

Meanwhile, various ex-parliamentarians and party officials from Sialkot and Bahawalnagar called on party chief Mian Azhar at his residence here on Sunday.

Mian Azhar regretted that theft and dacoity cases were on the rise despite the fact that the army was in power in the country. He warned the government that societies that failed to deliver justice to the people could not survive.

He also urged the rulers to take practical steps for the welfare of the masses instead of making hollow claims like past governments.

He said national leaders must be consulted on national affairs but those who had plundered the public wealth and damaged the country’s interests should not be included in this consultation process.

He said the party would not join any alliance that did not have its roots among the masses and would expose the real face of the PPP through the electoral process.
