ISLAMABAD, June 9: A 15-year-old girl was killed and four members of her family critically injured on Sunday when their car plunged into a Nullah near Peshawar Mor.
The girl, Salma Bibi, daughter of Gul Mohammad, Raheel Shahzad, 24, Omar Wajid, 60, Haseena Bibi, 25, and Hafeez Bibi, 25, were coming to Islamabad from Malakand in their car (SW-6000) which veered off the road after its tyre burst, police said.
The injured were shifted to Pims.
PPI ADDS: An old woman was killed when hit by a speeding car while crossing the road near Lalkurti Chowk.
Naziran Bibi, 65, was shifted to a hospital nearby, where she died of her injuries.
The police registered a case against the unknown car-driver who had escaped.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad police arrested two persons who had contraband in their possession.
Shehzad was arrested for possessing a loaded 30-bore pistol near Zia Masjid and Gul Zaman for possessing nine liquor bottles at Pakistan Chowk.
The secretariat police stopped a car (LPT-4547) to check the documents. The driver of the car could not showed the original documents and during preliminary investigation admitted that he had stolen the car from Rawalpindi a few days ago.
