HYDERABAD, June 8: Surgeon Muhammad Hussain Leghari, who arrived home late Friday after remaining in captivity of his kidnappers for 55 days, is still in trauma.
Mystery shrouds his release as he did not talk to any newsman during his few-minute stay at home on Friday night and all the responsible police officials were maintaining a discreet silence over the whole affair.
However, talking to Dawn on Saturday night, Surgeon Leghari said that his kidnappers used apologize to him repeatedly for having kidnapping ‘a decent person’.
Giving some details of his ordeal, he said that he was waylaid by four armed bandits and his guard had to open fire. However, the armed men overpowered and took him to Petaro Road in his car. The car, he said, was later abandoned near Power House.
Dr Leghari said that the kidnappers escorted him through a jungle on foot whole the night which developed pustules in his feet.
Speaking in a very low pitch, the doctor said that he and the kidnappers crossed the Matiari Road. He said that six to 15 gangsters used to remain on his guard during the captivity.
