NEW YORK, April 28: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Lt-Gen Munir Hafiz said on Saturday that Pakistan had sought help from the US authorities to extradite several Pakistanis living in the United States, who allegedly plundered the country, including many retired army officials.

At a meeting with the Pakistani community here, Mr Hafiz, who earlier met United States law enforcing officials in Washington, said that the NAB was also seeking to extradite former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, as “she has been declared a proclaimed offender by the courts.”

As for Ms Bhutto’s husband Asif Zardari, now in a Pakistani jail for the last seven years, NAB chief said: “ We have several cases against him, and we will continue to pursue them.”—Our Correspondent
