BAJAUR, April 17: Seven Maliks of the Dabbar village have been arrested on charges of attacking Badan village of Mamond sub-division with rockets and missiles.
Panic gripped the whole area when it came under rocket and missile attacks and firing for three consecutive nights last week.
On Wednesday, about 12 rockets and missiles hit the village from hilltops of Dabbar area. Kalashnikov firing also sounded in the area for two hours.
Several people sustained injuries, while dozens of houses were damaged.
The villagers said the attackers had obviously targeted the Badan area where Afghan refugees supporting the interim regime in Kabul are residing for the last many months.
They said the unidentified attackers were the supporters and sympathisers of the ousted Taliban government.
They also said refugees living in the Badan area had passed information to the Bajaur political administration on the fleeing Taliban ministers and activists and that they had been instrumental in the arrest of Taliban in the agency.
In retaliation, the Taliban supporters launched attacks on refugees living in these areas.
