Rs260m will be spent on education

MIRPURKHAS, April 12: Zila Nazim Mirpurkhas Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani has said that textbooks for class 1 to 5 worth Rs10 million will be distributed among the students free of cost.

He was speaking at a textbooks distribution ceremony here on Friday at the Government Girls Rabia Basri Primary School Hameedpura colony and Government Boys Quaid-e-Millat Primary School, Satellite town.

He said that Rs620 million were allocated for promotion of education in the district.

Earlier, professor Saeed Ahmed, Naib Nazim, taluka Mirpurkhas, Javed Ahmed Papa, EDO education, Fareed Ahmed Khan, Apa Zubeda Yasmeen, Nazim UC, Yawar Ali and Iftikhar Arain also spoke to the gathering.

REFERENDUM BACKED: A big caravan of vehicles led by Mirpurkhas Naizm Pir Shafqat Hussain Shah Jilani will attend the public meeting of General Pervez Musharraf to be held on April 13 at Sanghar.

This was decided at a meeting held here on Friday which was presided over by Zila Nazim, while Nazims, Naib Nazims and councillors of talukas attended it.

Mr Jilani said that they were the part of the district government system and asked the participants to make the public meeting of the President successful.

Taluka Nazim Mirpurkhas Syed Inayat Ali Shah said that all the elected representatives were with the President to strengthen his hands.

The meeting also urged President Pervez Musharraf to hold public meeting at Mirpurkhas.

The meeting decided that a big caravan of vehicles led by Zila Nazim and taluka Nazim Mirpurkhas, would attend the meeting. It further decided that 2 buses from each union council would go to Sanghar to attend the public meeting.

A camp in this connection has also been setup.

TRANSPORT: Transport at different routes from Mirpurkhas remained off on Friday following the occupying of the buses, coaches and coasters by the police.

The police occupied them to take the people to the public meeting of President Musharraf at Sanghar on April 13.

Large number of people faced hardships due to non-availability of transport.
