LARKANA, April 10: Aijaz Leghari, a member of district council, Larkana, on Wednesday resigned from the membership of the council in protest against the remarks made by President General Parvez Musharraf about Benazir Bhutto and holding a referendum.
Leghari, who had won the district council elections on peasant seat with the support of the PPP, announced this at a news conference in Naudero on Wednesday.
Later, talking to Dawn from Naudero he termed the remarks of President General Pervez Musharraf against Benazir Bhutto uncalled for and said that holding referendum was a clear violation of the constitution.
