HYDERABAD, April 9: To pay homage to Allama I.I. Kazi for his services in promoting education and improving lives of the masses, the University of Sindh, Jamshoro, organized the Founder’s Week Celebrations (April 9-13) on Tuesday.

Vice Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui inaugurated the celebrations by opening the national book fair and fun fair at the faculty of arts ground, Allama I.I Kazi campus. Jamshoro.

As many as 25 book sellers and publishers from all over the country, including the Allama I.I Kazi Memorial Society, Sindhi Adabi Board, Institute of Sindhology, Sindhi Language Authority and the Pakistan Study Centre, have set up their book stalls at the national book fair.

Some 58 stalls have been set up in the fun fair by the students of various departments of the university and others.

A book exhibition was also organized. A number of valuable manuscripts were displayed in the book exhibition by the Institute of Sindhology and Allama I.I Kazi Library.

The Allama I.I. Kazi Reference Room has also been established by the university authorities at the Allama I.I Kazi Central Library of the university.

Valuable books on the life of Allama I.I Kazi and his photographs were displayed at the reference room.

Begum Akhtar Jabeen Siddiqui inaugurated the book exhibition and Allama I.I Kazi Reference Room. The book fair will continue till Thursday.
