JAMMU, April 8: Unidentified men killed at least seven people, including four children, in an attack on Hindus in occupied Kashmir on Monday.
The gunmen opened fire on a village in Udhampur district, a senior policeman said.
One of the five villagers wounded in the attack said many of the victims suffocated in homes set alight by tracer bullets.
“We were sleeping when militants attacked the village from different directions,” said Laxmi. “Village defence committee members retaliated...and the exchange of fire lasted until three in the morning, when police arrived.”—Reuters
