LAHORE, April 7: The Pakistan Medical Association has called for a strike on Monday to protest against killing of doctors, unemployment and privatization of medical institutions in the garb of autonomy.
An announcement to this effect was made following a meeting of the Punjab PMA. The meeting was presided over by Dr Dil Muhammad Mirza here on Sunday.
The announcement said during the strike doctors would continue to work in emergency wards and life saving areas.
The meeting urged the president to ask the provincial governments to solicit opinion of people on all legislation regarding the health sector. It said doctors’ organizations, too, should also be sought regarding the proposed laws.
