MANSEHRA, April 5: The senior civil judge has remanded five of the 21 activists of Harkatul Mujahideen arrested here on Wednesday in police custody for two days. The remaining activists were sent to Mansehra sub-jail.
Those remanded in police custody included the group leader Munir Ahmad of Gilgit, Saghir Ahmad of Gilgit, Rashid of Karachi, Attaullah of Rahim Yar Khan and Abdul Basit of Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, three senior officials of an agency arrived from Peshawar to interrogate the arrested activists.
It is learnt that they would interrogate the activists on whether the group has been involved in any subversive activity, whether it was planing any activities or terrorist action against the solidarity and integrity of Pakistan and whether it has any connection with Al Qaeda.
