ISLAMABAD, April 4: Fifty professionals qualified for the main round of the Chief Executive of Pakistan Gold Medal Golf Championship that opens at the Rawalpindi Club course from Friday.
On Thursday, all the 50 professionals who carded eight over made it through to the main round where they will join the top 11 for a 54-hole competition.
Ansar Mahmood and Muhammad Sultan did well by carding par 72 in the qualifiers in which as many as 85 professionals competed over 18 holes.
In the senior professional event that began Thursday Shaukat Ali led a pack of 10 with a score of two over par while Gul Muhammad with eight over 80 was in second place. There was a two- way tie for the third spot between Muhammad Rafique and Akbar Ali, both of whom were nine over.— Sports Reporter
