KARACHI, April 1: KESC managing director Brig Tariq Saddozai has said trade union activities will not be allowed in the organization till the government validates them.

Talking to the representatives of all the defunct KESC workers unions, who called on him at his office on Monday, Brig Saddozai said he wanted a congenial management-employee relationship based on mutual trust for the benefit of the employees, the corporation and the electricity consumers.

He said there was a shortage of technical staff due to retirement of employees and a ban on employment since 1992. The corporation will fill up 89 vacancies of technical staff soon through advertisements in the press, he added.—PPI
