ISLAMABAD, March 31: Shahid Zaman, Mansoor Zaman and Amjad Khan are set to compete in this month’s British Open, Pakistan squash secretary Sqd-Ldr Sajid Waheed told Dawn Sunday.
They will take part in the qualifying round of the tournament which is slated to run between April 8 and 19.
The Pakistan officials would be watching closely the performance especially of Amjad Khan, who is reported to have been troubled by a knee injury in the recent Pakistan Open in Lahore.
“If Amjad fares well, we will name him on the team for the Asian Senior Championship in May,” Sajid said.
The Asian Championship which takes place from May 1 to 8 in Kuala Lumpur will see in action Shahid, Mansoor, Aijaz Azmat and possibly Amjad, if he is able to put up a good show in Britain. If not, then his place on the team would go to Muhammad Ilyas.
