KARACHI, March 30: Sindh Privatization Commission on Saturday approved the highest bid offered at an open auction for the sale of government assets worth over Rs120 million.
The provincial privatization commission has started the disposal of various properties and projects of Sindh through transparent open auctioning.
The commission in the presence of its Chairman, Nasir Ali Shah Bukhari, Secretary Lal Din Kashmiri and other members today offered the under-construction Trauma Centre which fetched the highest bid of Rs90 million, which was accepted.
Besides, bids for Rs14 million for three residential and commercial plot of 4045 sq yards in Hyderabad, Rs1.95 million for a residential bungalow in Hyderabad, Rs1.525 million for constructed quarters on a plot of 400 sq yards in Hyderabad, Rs1,65000 for a commercial plot of 37.7 sq yards in Hyderabad and Rs3.250 million for 2.12 acres of land in Mirpur Mathelo, District Ghotki were also received and accepted by the commission.
The chairman, Sindh Privatization Commission, directed the concerned staff to complete the required formalities within a week and hand over the possession of auctioned properties to successful bidders.
Nasir Ali Shah Bukhari said that in order to ensure transparency in the auction process, the entire proceedings had been duly covered through video camera.
He said that properties of Sindh Road Transport Corporation would be re-auctioned after every 15 days.—APP
