Taslim grabs four golds

LAHORE, March 27: Taslim Fatima of Karachi University won four gold  medals  on  opening day  of the  Inter-University  Women’s athletic  championship which began at the Punjab  University  New Campus track Wednesday.

Punjab  University gained 54 points to take lead on first  day of the meet.

The  following  five universities  are  taking  part  in  the championship:

Karachi   University,   Peshawar   University,   Shah    Latif University, Khairpur, Lahore College (elevated to a  university), Punjab University).

Following are the results of the opening day events:

100  metres dash: 1. Taslim Fatima (KU): Time: 13.01  seconds. 2. Beenish Amin (PU). 3. Imrana Nazir (PU).

1500 metres race: 1. Sehrish Nawaz (PU): Time: 6 minutes  5.73 seconds. 2. Tahira Pervin (PU). 3. Sana Ahmad (Lahore College).

Shot putt: 1. Maria Amjad Mir (PU): Distance: 8.42 metres.  2. Muneeba Mahmood (PU). 3. Aasia Khan (KU).

Long  Jump:  1. Taslim Fatima (KU): Distance: 4.7  metres.  2. Beenish Amin (PU). 3. Seerat Batool (Lahore College).

100  metres hurdles race: 1. Taslim Fatima (KU):  Time:  17.92 seconds. 2. Sobia Cheema (Lahore College). 3. Imrana Nazir (PU).

400  metres race: 1. Taslim Fatima (KU): Time: one minute  7.9 seconds. 2. Sana Ahmad (Lahore College). 3. Shazia Akram (PU).
