SARGODHA, March 27: Residents of College and Club roads and adjoining areas have been suffering for the last five days after the closure of the Lower Jhelum Canal and failure of the authorities concerned to supply drinking water to them.

The subsoil water of these areas is saline and unfit for human consumption.

In an appeal to the Punjab governor, the residents of affected areas have sought a directive to the authorities concerned to immediately supply drinking water to them.
