Two killed in car crash

SAHIWAL, March 23: Two persons were killed while three others suffered grievous wounds in a road accident here on Saturday.

Five people in a car (MND-3692) were returning from Pakpattan after paying homage to Baba Fariduddin Shakar Ganj. Near Chak 83/D on the Sahiwal-Pakpattan road, it overturned due to overspeeding. Adeel and Saadat died on the spot while Waris Ali, Akbar and Shafqat sustained serious injuries. They were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital, Multan, for their critical condition.

HOUSE LOOTED: Outlaws on Friday night looted cash and valuables worth Rs0.5 million in four strikes and injured seven persons, four of them seriously, on resistance.

Five armed outlaws barged into the house of Pehlwan of Chak 135/9-L and held the inmates hostage. They collected cash and valuables amounting to Rs135,000 and also injured Pehlwan on resistance.

In another bid, the house of Niaz Ahmed was looted in Railway Colony. The bandits gathered valuables worth Rs0.3 million and also wounded Niaz and his son Tariq for putting up resistance.

In Chak 86/12-L, outlaws made away with valuables worth Rs75,000 from the house of Mustafa. The intruders also wounded Mustafa and Muzammil Bibi for offering resistance.

The dacoits shot and injured seriously Mubashar (17) and Sumaira (26) when they tried to resist the dacoity bid in their house at Chak 86/9-L. They were admitted to the local DHQ Hospital.
