RAWALPINDI, March 19: The Punjab health department is starting the Hepatitis-B vaccination campaign in 15 districts including Rawalpindi for the children below the age of one year from April 1, officials said here on Monday.
By May 1, the campaign would be extended to all districts of the province, they said.
With the inclusion of Hepatitis-B in the vaccination programme for the children, the number of diseases being covered would raise to seven including, tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, measles, polio and Hepatitis-B.
The department has imparted training to the district officers (health) and district superintendents (vaccination) in the districts where the vaccination is being started.—Staff Reporter
