ISLAMABAD, March 18: American investigating agencies have been attached to Pakistani law enforcing agencies to probe the church attack in the high-security diplomatic enclave.

“We have investigators from American law enforcing agency working with Pakistani agencies,” Press Counsellor of US Embassy Mark Windworth told reporters here.

He avoided giving a straight reply to a direct question, asked by a Pakistani journalist, whether the FBI was also investigating the case.

He did not name any agency but affirmed that American investigators were attached to Pakistani law enforcing agencies.

When asked about the type of bombs used by the terrorists, he said that grenades were used in the attack.

Press Counsellor of US Embassy Mark Windworth and Public Affairs Counsellor John Kincan were informally responding to questions of national and international media persons at the US Information Service Centre.

About deceased Barbara Green and her daughter, they said she was the spouse of a diplomat Mr Milton Green who was also injured in the attack. Their son, too, was among the injured.

Barbara Green was also working in the US embassy as deputy in the personnel department, while her daughter was a high school student at International School Islamabad.

Mr Kincan said that the arrangements were being made to shift the bodies to the United States.

Mr Mark said that nine other American nationals injured in the attack were out of danger.
