ISLAMABAD, March 15: The federal government has imposed central excise duty (CED) on telephone line rent for the first time.

PTCL Chairman Akhtar Ahmed Bajwa, who was invited to discuss corporation’s affairs and subscribers problems, disclosed this on a live current affairs programme of Radio Pakistan.

Mr Bajwa said international call charges would be reduced further to facilitate cheaper communication between the subscribers and their near and dear ones abroad.—NNI
