KARACHI, March 14: Eight ships including two tankers carrying 0.125 million tons of crude oil are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources.

Meanwhile, ship movements at the wharves remained active as 10 ships were berthed and departed, raising the berth occupancy to 67 and 52 per cent at the Bulk Oil Piers and the dry wharves.

Five ships, Sinar Bangka, MSC Mirella, Charlott Schulte and Leixoes to unload and load containers and Prestige to offload crude oil were berthed after the sailing of as many.

Five ships, Beauty River, X.Press Dhaulagiri, Mira, Lanka Mahapola, and Titan Venus sailed out, while Prestige, Charlotte Schulte, Leixoes, MSC Mirella and Sinar Bangka are due to depart on Friday.

Cargo handling activity was fairly brisk owing to larger handling of liquid tonnage, rising to 0.103 million tons, comprising 32,723 tons of export cargo and 69,789 tons of import tonnage.

The following ships are due on Friday: Al-Ishsaa, MSC Pride, Meteor, Simajija, with containers, Trina, with general cargo, Johar and Golden Gate, with 60,000 and 65,000 tons of crude oil, Mina, with chemicals.
