ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: President Gen Pervez Musharraf and UN Secretary- General Kofi Annan on Thursday held wide-ranging discussions covering current tensions between Pakistan and India, developments relating the reconstruction of Afghanistan and the UN role in coordinating international efforts for this purpose.
The president informed the secretary-general about the efforts Pakistan had made for de-escalation, particularly his initiative at Kathmandu to extend hand of friendship to the Indian prime minister, the foreign ministry spokesman said in a statement.
