WANGANUI (New Zealand), Dec 9: Two days of rain washed out the first match of Bangladesh’s brief New Zealand tour against an NZ District Association XI.
The match ended in a draw Sunday after no play was possible on the third and final day and only four balls were bowled on the second day.
The NZ District Association XI declared early on the second morning at their overnight 232 for three and rain prevented Bangladesh from beginning their reply.
Bangladesh now travel to play the star-studded Auckland team in a four-day match starting Wednesday.
The first Test against New Zealand in Hamilton starts Dec 18.
The second Test in Wellington begins Dec 26.
