Aisam in doubles final

LAHORE, Dec 7: Pakistan tennis star Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi and partner Jaroslav Levinsky of Czech Republic reached the Kings and Queens International Tennis Championship doubles’s final beating Jan Hui and Anthony Ross in straight sets at the Muang Thong Thani Complex courts, Bangkok (Thailand), according to a message received here on Friday.

Aisam and partner won the semi-final with a score of 7-6 (7/5), 6-3.

In the final, Aisam and partner will face the winner of the match between  Jaymon Crabb and Peter Luczak of Australia and Hyung Taik Lee of Korea and Partner.

Earlier, in the quarterfinal, Aisam and partner had defeated James Auckland of Great Britain and Johan Du Randt of South Africa 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

 Aisam’s march in the singles event, however, was halted by a leading Dutch player and fourth seed of the tournament John Van Lottum in the pre-quarter-final. The Dutch player won with the score of 6-3, 7-5.

In other singles’ matches, Leander Paes of India lost in the first round to Lior Dahan of Israel and Mahesh Bhupatti of India lost to Martin Verkerk of Holland.
